It is good to hear from you and also to hear you’re on a social media diet. I was wondering what happened to you. I’m glad you are filling the time with books! What treasures books are. With gratitude for your writing and your perspective on life. ❤️

I have been uncharacteristically patient today with a travel day full of delays and unexpected detours. This was a good reminder to let go and just arrive when I arrive.

For all my urging to be patient and take your time and let things unfold as they will, I am a complete nightmare on travel days. Unless it’s a train day, in which case I feel at home in all of it. I’m glad you found your zen, it would have escaped me completely.

Always love hearing some thoughts from you. I took my time today by accepting that the lines at both Target AND Whole Foods were going to be super long as it was a Sunday—Super Bowl Sunday, at that. But I wasn't in a rush and I had to get what I had to get. In surrendering to these facts, I ended up having such a lovely encounter with a woman on line in front of me. She saw me carrying too many items without a basket and immediately took the five or so items from her own basket and gave it to me. We then chatted about Broadway and NYC and other things and, before we knew it, we were at the registers wishing each other well. It was an overall lovely "line" experience—all because I didn't let time control me. Thanks, as always, for the reminder to slow down and pay attention. x

I love this reminder. Earlier today at H Mart a guy was in such a rush to reach over me to the salmon bowls that he practically shoved me into the display case and it reminded me of a sentence I once read in a humor post: the worst people in the world are the other people at the grocery store 😂. Thank you for sharing the other side.
